Why subscribe?

As a graduate student, I feel it necessary to heavily research each topic I write about and cite my sources as openly as possible. Unless I’m posting pure analysis, you’re going to find a lot of links showing where I got information from. As such these articles/posts/collections of words can take a good deal of time before I send them out. Any compensation for the labor that goes into this work is appreciated, and enables me to keep the project going.

In theory I’m posting something every other week, but as news breaks I usually try to get a post up that explains what’s happening and situates it within a broader context. The goal of this is to help people understand how new and breaking events fit into larger trends or larger stories.
